My interest lies within portraiture and the human form because I like to capture the non-verbal language of my subjects. Attitude speaks volumes in body language. Body language often provides clues as to the personality or mood of a person. How do my subjects “speak” to the viewer and to me as an artist? I tend to focus on formal as well as expressive qualities in my work. I enjoy working with several different media: drawing, painting, printmaking, or ceramics. The medium I choose is dependent upon what I want to express and how I want to express it. I find that the process of art-making is rather therapeutic, and so one could say what I create becomes revealing about myself.
